Treasures found.....
Finally after 5 years of waiting to move back home....(can you hear me yahooo-ing?)...I am in pack mode big time. I have been packing and we have our storage unit full...but there are always those objects that give me the "creature comforts" of warmth and home that I have put off wrapping in paper and shoving tightly into a box.......but after this weekend...guess what?....it's time to do so.
I have so many great and memorable times remembered with my daughter scouting for the "perfect" thing to set aside a memory of a great outing or a favorite hunting trip for a certain item. Silly little things but those that make your heart warm and your smile a bit brighter.....when I remember the ah ha moments or that of my giggling little girl......
I love these plates...they adorn my hutch in my dining room...well most of them anyways....I do use them quite often and I don't think I have ever found another pattern that has given me much pleasure every time I use them or admirer them when walking by them sitting there on the hutch shelves. Ballad designs had them long ago and they were expensive....these are for TJMAXX are were not...:o) <-----big smile ....LOL
This pitcher is a favorite of mine. I remember purchasing this on Ebay so many, many years ago. When it arrived my daughter said..."Mama is that poison ivy?"......I remember we giggled and she said she learned about poison ivy from Seth in her kindergarten class....."he got some going camping and he got sick on his arm." (I'm not sure Seth even went camping...I think he had quite a few mesquito bites however...LOL)
This little honey holder "bee hive" is very old. I found it at an antique store in Twin Falls, Idaho. It's worn and tattered of time but is still one of those things that I treasure....I wonder who ever owned it to begin with....and who filled it with such sweetness....who opened it up and stuck their finger into it and ran out of the kitchen......who would have thought it would have ended up in our home...Although I am totally nuts over birds.....I love Bees...they adorn us with the color of flowers...without them...summer would not be so lush and full of beautiful blooms and fragrance.....
So there you have it this morning...before paper is wrapped around all and headed off to storage....I had to have one last look.....one last touch.....one last perfect memory of the adventure and the Treasures found.......thanks for stopping by.....

As promised.............
I have had several ladies contact me about posting these three framed....lets see...what do I call these....pieces of "collage art".. that I did quite some time ago. I did these to hang on my wall of my studio...and now that I am packing up my house to move "home" this summer...(could you hear the enthusiasm in my voice?...LOL)...I decided it was now or never...so thank you all for "reminding me"...theres a nice word for it...LOL...and as promised here they are...:o)
I love dress forms....so this one was stamped and cut several times to form just the right "fashion statement."
This funny little bird jumping for joy on the top he's spread his wings and almost looks to be smiling.
This is my Hubby's favorite. Life is just a balancing act....so I placed hand cut chairs on top of one another and some of my favorite birds trying to clammer up to the top to reach that tiny cherry. The little bird down below is such a favorite of mine. He's letting everyone know he is not pleased with his placement........LOL
I designed these from G45 and BoBunny papers from last year. I loved the camera line that BoBunny put out....so that is mostly the back grounds for these pieces. I used scraps everywhere in them of all different papers and used lots of stamps with French script, distress dots....ect. including Character Construction and Technique Tuesday. Lots of swirls and alphabets and type as well. I love anything with birds on them....so I placed those little antique birds around the designs to keep the motion going. They were truly enjoyable to design and I have also made them into cards.....:o)
May your day be an enjoyable one for you....doing something you love and brings you such warmth......;o)

A really cool blog you don't want to miss.....
Recently while sitting up in the dark in the a.m. with a migraine, I began searching for design blogs on my IPad and came across this one....http://modvintagelife.blogspot.com/. It is so totally worth reading and exploring. The owner of this delightful blog, Nita, is a graphic designer and has such a charming and warming home that she is restoring filled with Weenie doglets.....and through their antics and her everyday life of love and design....you'll so enjoy reading her blog.
When you have a moment...jump over to it...for surely dear friends...you will find it as capitvating as I did...;o)
The wind is HOLLOWING here today with such incredable force....I am hoping that where ever you are...your weather is calm and soothing to your day and you enjoy it well....
I am off to my studio to create somethng that warms my soul....and brightens my smile...Mr. B. will surely be accompanying me as long as I bring his "woobie" with me...as he hates the wind as much as I do....:o)
Enjoy your day.....

Finally.....
I am beginning to think about the season change........and in doing so I dove into my Flora and Fauna paper pack from K&Company this past week and designed a much different album than I usually do. Full of spring pastel colors with a hint of vintage and distressing....this mini made me really think about the upcoming spring flowers....the birds and the color the season always brings. The papers were wonderful to design with and all the embellies that went along with the paper were interesting to use. I glossy accented much....fancy cut a bunch.....and gathered all together to complete this mini.... my video is on my YouTube channel at Yorkieyodaldog for a complete view of the finished album....thanks for stopping by....and think Spring!
